3 days after FUE hair transplant – Aug 16, 2020.
The donor and recipient areas of my head continue to itch, itch, and itch. I find the donor area to be the most painful and uncomfortable. There are no signs of infection or bleeding, so I’m not concerned something is wrong. However, it feels like someone came up to me, grabbed a fistful of hair, and yanked it out of my scalp. I haven’t been taking the Tramadol they prescribed for pain medication. Personally, I want to avoid this type of medication unless I’m in severe pain. Instead, I try to take Advil when needed.
There is still a lot of Liposomal spray remaining. Even though it’s been over 48 hours, I still use it to spray the recipient area. I’m sure it’s not helping, but it does seem to calm the itching a bit.
I can’t continue sitting propped up in the corner of the house doing nothing except obsessively thinking about new hair. I need to start moving around and preparing for work tomorrow.
Like a lot of people, I am working from home. Up until now, I have been wearing a baseball cap during my daily 6 – 10 hours of virtual meetings. At this point, I don’t want to wear a hat because I don’t want to accidentally dislodge a graft putting on/taking off the cap. My body temperature runs hot, and I don’t wish to have sweat sitting on my grafts and incisions to promote bacterial growth.
I’m curious if anyone at work will notice anything different.
While I help out with some easy chores around the house, I am mindful of bending at the knees and not fully bend over. Even on day 4, I’m nervous that any unsecured grafts may come roll off the top of my head. One task I won’t do at this time is going down to the basement. Our unfinished basement made of puddingstone has 6-foot ceilings, and I have a tendency to bang my head 1 out of 3 times.
At the end of the day, I gently washed my hair, following the regimen they provided. I want to make sure my head is clean, and I apply the Bacitracin Ointment. The last thing I want is an infection.
