I was on the bottom of a waitlist in case there was a cancellation. As luck would have it, on August 3 Matt from the Shapiro Medical Group contacted that there might be an opening that week or the week after. By August 4 my new hair transplant date was changed to Aug 11-12, 2020.

I immediately booked my travel for Aug 10 – 13, 2020. My flight is booked on Delta, and I am staying at the Renaissance Minneapolis Bloomington Hotel.

Next, I needed to find somewhere to take a COVID-19 test within 5 days of my surgery. I booked a rapid test on August 8 with AFC Urgent Care in Bedford, MA. This was the only place I could find that would provide my results in time. A lot of places had wait times of 3-7 days before you received your test results.

Teacher by Victoria from the Noun ProjectI’ve been saving points using my American Express Delta Skymiles and Chase Marriott Bonvoy credit cards. With the Delta card, I used cash + points to purchase my airfare for $150. Using my annual free night awards from Marriott, I paid $100 for 3 nights at the Renaissance Minneapolis Bloomington Hotel.
